The Lu family’s ancestral glazed family began during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty (AD 1573-1620). It was an important family craftsman of glazed gray pottery in northern my country then. Hejin Yantang Lushi Glazed Gray Pottery Craft Factory is a large-scale traditional handmade factory integrating the design, production, production, and marketing of traditional glazed gray pottery. The glazed gray pottery products produced have unique shapes, exquisite craftsmanship, brilliant colors, and excellent texture, and have been well received by users at home and abroad. In particular, the glaze color “Peacock Orchid” is the first of its kind and has had a great influence on the development history of colored glaze art. After the Ming and Qing Dynasties, many famous ancient buildings in Shanxi, Shaanxi, and Henan, such as Jiezhou Guandi Temple, Quwo City God Temple, Jishan Wulong Palace, Hejin Tianshen Temple, Qinglong Temple, Zushi Temple, and Henan Lingbaohou Tu Temple, were all built by Lu. Hejin Lu’s Glaze was founded in the late Yuan and early Ming dynasties. It is a glaze kiln with official kiln standards in my northern country. Its glass products have strange shapes, brilliant glaze colors, exquisite craftsmanship, and excellent texture. They were placed on the roof of the Forbidden City in the Ming Dynasty. After liberation, Lu Hongjian, the eighth-generation descendant of the Lu family of colored glazes, participated in the restoration work of Yongle Palace in Ruicheng and Guangsheng Temple in Hongdong and fired all the colored glaze spine beasts and pagoda decorations. In June 2008, Lushi Glaze firing technology was announced as a “national intangible cultural heritage” by the State Council. In 1983, Lu Yantang, the ninth-generation descendant of the “Lu’s Glazed Family”, founded the Hejin Lu’s Glazed Factory in his hometown of Dongyaotou Village. After 22 years of development and growth, it was expanded into the Hejin Ancient Yun Lu’s Ancestral Glazed Gray Pottery in 2015. Ltd. The company covers an area of 19,000 square meters, of which the workshop covers an area of 1,200 square meters. It has 80 employees, 18 senior technical personnel and 10 management personnel. The production adopts traditional production techniques and domestic advanced scientific and technological achievements, forming a modern business model with scientific ingredients, large-scale production, modern equipment and professional teams, with an annual output value of more than 10 million yuan.

Over the years, the company has produced screen walls, kiss decorations, and gray pottery components for Shanxi Changjia Manor, Wang Family Courtyard, Li Family Courtyard, Datong Yungang Grottoes, Huayan Temple and city walls. He has made glass sculptures for large ancient buildings such as Henan Shaolin Temple, Jiezhou Guandi Temple, Hongdong Susan Prison, Linfen Yao Temple, and Drum Tower. In the late 1980s, all glazed gray pottery products were fired for the restoration projects of Yongji Pujiu Temple and Guanque Tower. We also fired glazed and gray pottery products for important projects such as Yongji Wangu Temple, Guifei Pond, Wulaofeng, Hongdong Big Sophora Tree, Yuci Old City and other important projects. The products are sold to Beijing, Tianjin, Inner Mongolia, Xi’an, Gansu, Henan, Hebei, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Taiyuan and other places, and are unique in the glazed gray pottery industry. In 1993, at the special request of the Hebei Provincial Department of Construction, we designed and produced all glazed products for Yanzhao Garden in Tottori Prefecture, Japan, which were well received by Japanese colleagues. In 1994, he fired a complete set of colored glaze and gray pottery components for the miniature landscape of Beihai Park in Houston, USA, making important contributions to the development of my country’s colored glaze industry and the economic and cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries.
